Spectrum apartments on the Isle of Man are one recent example of a residential success story where a selection of Pegler Yorkshire products is being used to great effect. The apartments are located on the Central Promenade in the Island’s capital Douglas and when the best fittings were required, local company Premier Plumbing and Heating turned to Pegler Yorkshire to supply the fittings they required. Spectrum Apartments is a unique waterfront development in Douglas and comprises of 1 and 2 bedroom studio apartments in one of the most desirable locations on the island and with high quality fixtures and fittings throughout, Pegler Yorkshire fittings were the obvious choice when only the best products would do. When creating the manifold systems, Premier Plumbing and Heating decided to use XPress Copper fittings – an appropriate choice, since XPress is ideal for use across a broad spectrum of applications and is perfect when a flexible, heat free jointing system is required. XPress fittings are compressed onto the tube using a press fit tool to achieve sound joint, without the need for solder, adhesives or any additional jointing materials. XPress joints provide electrical continuity when the jointing process is complete. Pegler Yorkshire’s David Heaton said, “So far we have supplied XPress copper products for this project in a variety of sizes. Premier Plumbing and Heating wanted sizes from 67mm all the way up to the larger 108mm size and with a 165 apartments in total, XPress is going to be seeing a great deal of use on this project.” XPress copper fittings are guaranteed for 30 years against manufacturing defects when installed with Yorkex Copper Tube or 25 years when used with other products. XPress fittings are also WRAS and DVGW approved. “So far we have supplied in excess of £25,000 worth of XPress copper products alone,” continued David, “and with more apartment projects to follow in this part of the world, t looks like the Isle of Man is going to be seeing a great deal more of XPress copper.” |
